Has anyone Upgraded there SpeedTouch Home modems to a Pro Version, using the info at this site (or similar sites) :- http://www.sateh.com/hacks/alcatel.php ?

yes i used that site last time.

works good. though i dont use it, id rather a smoothwall box or something else, its too fussy in pro mode for my liking.. i think most the others that have changed over agree.
Use of undefined constants causes assumptions!

What do you mean by fussy? Is it difficult to configure the modem once it is in Pro mode?

yeah its not easy, there is an external program, ill find the link when i get home later tonight.

the smoothwall box was easier.

plus ask Griff. his settings somehow got lost or misconfigured.

I didn't find it too difficult to configure once I deleted most of the standard configuration and just put in the basics. I have talked people through this over the phone without a screen in front of me, so if you need help let me know.
