Should we have a Johnd V's Porkster Debate forum?
I'm starting to enjoy these daily Johnd V's Porkster debates, Im thinking we should have a forum dedicated to it.

I actually went to the trouble of setting up a domain with a dedicated server running a nice web board for that very purpose.
...unfortunately it's unreachable, probably because of netspace's proxy server.

HAHA, maybe you should traceroot it?

Yeah dude, maybe thats an idea.

Johnd's problem is he disagreed on a subject that was different than the one being discussed, that was the problem. Other words leading the sheep camp into believing that issue was obviously incorrect for my view point.
The old issue was Shareaza and how it discovered hosts and determined Hub and leaf clients. He was plainly wrong at the time and any problems with Shareaza at the time was due to Shareaza's client faults and direction.

I thought the whole "Porkster knows nothing about networks" thread had died. Looks like more fun to be had here
Go back to fixing your AMD systems, etc. A waste of time talking about trivial-history or the bias of a secluded group that don't work off facts but popular opinions.
I'm on Comindico now and haven't looked back. Full speeds, access to VIX, WAIX and other AUSWIDE pipes. Pity I couldn't be bothered collecting game like football cards anymore but when I do, I'm getting full speeds. None of this 6Kbps out of DC++. No network issues like Netspace is having in Tassie. No web proxy issues either.
I have been dropped off my Ozforces connection probably once and straight back on again, obviously a upgrade. On Netspace it was multi times a month and multi issues. Also no restrictions on Comindico, totally unlimited. None of this 56K HELL MODE treating it's customers like kids.
Netspace should be called Net-scrap.
It's amazing I visiting this site again. I rarely visit Whirlpool, since I have no issues with DSL. I was jolted into checking someone and noticed this link so I checked out. To my amazement, the forums were back up again.

Comindico? Hahahahaha.
Isn't that the backbone provider whose financial backers are desparately trying to sell their interests but can't find a buyer? (I'll answer my own question: Yes, with AGL telling the ASX that they are going to withdraw their equity within 6 months, whether they sell or not.)
I'd start looking for another ISP ixhammer...oops, sorry, Porkster.
BTW, as a comment on your recent postings on Whirlpool, Comindico can't peer through Pipe, as only ISP's can peer, and Comindico isn't an ISP, it's a network backbone provider.
I guess I was wrong. You still don't understand networks and provider's business models.

Yello
I have a friend on Dart unlimited adsl. Hes had nothing but problems with that isp but still maintains its good. A number of problems include: 60 percent of network bandwidth whereas i can utilize my bandwidth around 100% if I wanted to, problems with comindico fucking up, half speed ftp sites and kazaa and shit, problems switiching over to the connect backbone from comindioc and comindico is upp the shitter as Mr D said. Whereas on netspace 100 bucks a month and 20 gig download limit is creeping closer to unlimited download sorta download amounts. Sure ns isnt perfect but its better then all these horror stories I hear.

Well on my Comindico based dsl deal, I’m getting A1 speeds and always have. Currently downloading about 20 files and the speeds is near maxing out the dsl config and I not using port 80/8080, using the standard p2p client ports.
No restrictions at all. No HELL 56K mode. No DC++ only p2p local server. No constant disconnections within the month. Proper tech router network setups that don’t cause proxy issues. Good pings.
Netspace is great if you want a super cheap deal and leech off local p2p, other than that it’s not really useable for net user buffs.
I had a laugh the other day a friend in country Victoria was getting Kawasaki’s web site when they tried http://127.0.0.1 to access his router config, mind you he uses Netspace. Obviously another netspace proxy tunnelling issue which I thought was only a Hobart problem Netspace.

Hmm that tip bit (I mean real small) was discussed more that 6 months before.
Who's the real sinking ship... Netscrap..

A internet wholesaler isn't just data level 2 routers. Any bridge section with the right equipment can peer.
ISP is a general term for internet provider... a sub level is wholesaler and retailer and also involved-retailer (where the retailer plays an active role.) Netspace is an involved-retailer. Comindico is a ISP at a wholesale level. Oxforces is a plain retailer.

Another Porkster unproven statement....

Well, you must be the exception. Comindico has heavily oversubscribed their bandwidth and infrastructure in Tasmania. This is now causing significant problems for both DSL and dialup subscribers (except, of course, for you).

How would he know? localhost address isn't passed across routers, so he would never see a call to this address from a remote site as it would never reach him. This comment makes no sense. It's "traceroot" all over again...
By the way, for someone who despises Whirlpool so much, you seem to have taken the time to create a new alias to hide behind, ixhammer? You've been banned from Whirlpool. Can't you take the hint?

From Bevan, Pipeworks:
"So with a name of "IXHammer" you seem to know stuff all about peering. I find that curious - but I digress. "
I guess that should be it for you Porkster.
EDIT: Sorry, it was Bevan, not Bob, who put Porkster/ixhammer in his place.

How? Bob is just stating his opinion. Nothing makes him an expert, irrespective of the business he works for, etc.
I hope you never do jury duty!
Bob can say what he wants against pure logic I stated. I placed out the basis to IX'ing and it's still logical and truthful. Bob hasn't disproved anything, but he has tried to attack my statements, statements that might lower his employer's opportunities.

Its bad enough when someone believes they are correct and actually turns out they are.
Though its much worse when that person believes they are correct and never are.
Then worse again, when someone claims to know about a given fact, that they have no actual backup proof off, especially when the whole world knows and can often prove they are wrong.
My ex girlfriend is/was like that. Knew everything about everything, without actually knowing anything, refused to actually be told anything and would continually make a fool of herself.
Lack of self esteem or ignorance, im not quiet sure.
