As some of you are probably already tired of hearing, I do a blog called "Lag-O-Rama", devoted to MMORPG's. Last week, I did a post on the topic of violent videogames leading to increased aggression in young people, and how a prestigious psychiatric journal had found that this conclusion had no basis in fact.

To make a long story short, after I took a jab at him, Jack Thompson himself left a comment, explaining how I was wrong. And now Jeff Freeman (former SWG dev, who has for some reason become a regular reader of my blog) has responded to him.

The long and short of it is this...I sleep better each night, knowing I may have helped push Jack that one small step closer to a seizure.

The post on my blog: Videogames breed violence? DON'T MAKE ME HIT YOU!!!

And for those who don't know who Jack Thompson is: Captain Happypants Himself

His Wikipedia entry is at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Thompson_(attorney) , which for some reason won't work as a link. Probably because I'm too damn tired to be doing this at the moment.

(BTW, I figure there's a decent chance it's him...the ip address that comment came from originated in...Coral Gables, Florida. Jack's hometown.)

Nice catch :)

Nice blog.

Reminds me of a thread on these forums.
It makes me angry when people go off and only cheery pick studies and reports that seem to support their own bias and ignore all the rest.
