anyone who uses itunes thats updated to 8.0 had any problems?
when its on my computer runs slower than a week in jail, was using 67% of my cpu this morning. when it's minimise and i try to bring it back up it can be waiting 30 secs to a minute for it to appear

pretty certain its itunes as not having the problems with anything else, and never had this with itunes before they changed to 8.0 last week
i dont even have the new genius bar opened ,which was the major update (it spys on your music and recommends similar stuff from the store,,gave a few too many good recommendations and i had to turn it off before i spent a fortune)

I read a thread on it when it was first released, and apparently everyone is complaining about how slow it runs. 7 was bad enough, but apparently 8 is much worse.

It's also bloatware and installs a bunch of other crap that you probably wont use. Seems to run multiple programs whenever it's run. Doesnt surprise me Quicktime is the slowest media player in history, so it makes sense that itunes is the slowest media manager :P

It might calm down after a day or two of analysing your music :P

I havent found an alternative to itunes yet. Not since Yahoo bought and closed down musicmatch (also bloated, but not as bad as itunes.) I tried media monkey for a while, but didnt like the interface, however, it does seem to be gaining popularity.

only reason i use itunes is because i cant live without my ipod
it's my alarm clock,
it keeps me sane at work (and drives everyone else nuts, as i own the speakers, mwahaha)
it gets me to and from work every day, and i usually fall alseep plugged into it listening to classical music

Surely there are other media players which support Ipod. I dont have one, so its not something i look for.

I had a problem with my Zune a few months back. My music got shuffled around when I downloaded the (then) new update. (It put songs into the wrong Album/Artist sections.)

Took forever to put them back in the right order.

I used to use musicmatch (bloatware) for managing my music library and organising/renaming everything. It was great for that, but for listening i just use windows media player. I know that supports portable devices.
