well, they shouldn't throw litter in the streets! They print people's names and what not in our papers for other legal reasons, I wish they would do the same for litterers. Now, I am not sure how people are over there, but I have a feeling that if names were printed here for litter, those peoples' yards would be used as a dumping ground.
Local newspapers already print the names and addresses of people who have been fined or sentenced. However it's usually in the form of: Name Street-name. It's just tucked away.
However, I wonder at the reason for highlighting litter-louts? Given the time of year, shouldn't they be listing those caught for driving under the influence and the other crimes that traditionally increase around Christmas?

Here is an exclusive preview of Marianne Taylor and Donald Martin's forthcoming campaigns..
FATTIES EXPOSED - we name and shame Glasgow's 2000 most obese people, and ask them - Just why the hell are you all so fat??
CANCER DEATHS - YOU DESERVED IT
the Evening Times and Scottish Executive dig up the bodies of people who died of smoking related diseases, and ask their relatives - when will you pay back the taxpayer for years of NHS treatment?
SINGLE MUMS - KEEP YOUR KNICKERS ON
the Evening Jackboot and friends go undercover at a family planning clinic, name and shame unmarried women attending, then ask them - where are your Christian values???
Any more suggestions would be gratefully accepted, just email donald.martin@eveningtimes.co.uk..

Love thy neighbour, except if they arent Christian, then they will go to hell.
Does being the most popular relgion, make any religion the only religion that is correct in it's beliefs? According to who and what, as each and every person has their own view of what is right and wrong and how far they are willing to take it, seems to depend on how devoted they are to their relgion and the "Word of God", which church/leader they belong to or simply which revision or translation of the Bible they prefer.
Surely if the bible was filled with God's word, he would come down and do the various translations and revisions himself instead of leaving up to a committee of men? Maybe then there wouldnt be so many inconsistencies or contradictions.
I hope that those two journalists at your local paper do not take that correspondent's criticism as suggestions for new articles.
