THE Royal Australian Navy is paying for women sailors to have breast enlargements for purely cosmetic reasons, at a cost to taxpayers of $10,000 an operation.

If you read deeper into the article it goes onto say it's done to address these women's psychological needs and that's fair enough. It isn't something I want done but I have a basic understanding of why some women really want this kind of surgery.

Cosmetic surgery for cosmetic reasons is another matter altogether. Cosmetic surgery to improve or restore ones appearance for emotional, psychological or other health-related versions is fine I think. Since surgery of any kind is a drastic option.

However, there's no way I'd have that kind of surgery with my employer's knowledge or funding.... I value my privacy!

They serve no purpose to the military. I say no. What about a person in prison?

Im not sure. If a person is going to feel bad about their breast size, why is this suddenly the case once in the military?

People in prison arent meant to feel good about themselves :P
