BitTorrent tracking site TorrentSpy is now actively blocking its file search service from United States online users. Searches originating from native connections mapped to the United States instead will be routed to a privacy policy page. TorrentSpy owner Justin Bunnell has confirmed the block will remain in effect indefinitely due to required compliance with privacy laws.
We also asked Justin how he thinks this will affect the future of TorrentSpy, and he responded: "Whatever future awaits, the innovations of peer-to-peer technology and the jobs and opportunities it creates will take place outside of the USA."
