Before Gelf arrived, i was playing Far Cry 2. Which is like Assassin's Creed, but in the Jungle. Great looking game, but lacking a little in variation.

oblivion with guns and explosions
guns and explosions were the only thing missing from oblivion

it's actually a bit overwhelming at 1st
once you get past the kinda intro segment in the vault and into the free world it realy is quite daunting

SPOILER

1st thing i found was a town where dear old daddy (who is voiced by liam neeson) is supposed to be
the town was full of quests and people to speak to
so ignored them all, went to the pub, spoke to a dodgy looking guy, shagged a hooker, killed her, fled the city and nuked it from afar
for all i know i've killed the father

i'm glad i've got 4 days off work

You must have missed so much. You can get a free house in Megton if you defuse the bomb.

Just been reading the official Fallout3 forum and there are folks whining about not getting player housing. Obviously a lot of people decided to blow up megaton and havent played much of the game.

The house in Megaton gives you a place to get free drugs and cola, also has a personal Robot assistant. Has a healing station and can be fitted out with various decor themes. Apparently there are much better houses later in the game.

if you blow up megaton, you get a house in tenpenny heights, although that was the only house i got

oh, and dont do the final quest until you've done everything you want. there is no freeplaying open world after you finish it

Ive had it since last Wednesday morning. Im only maybe a third of the way thru. Im trying to do most of it. If you like a game with alot of looting this is for you. VERY simple crafting to repair and upgrade weapons. Huge varity of things to do. I think it has 100 or so hours easily. Roughly the size of Oblivion.

No prototype medic power armour? It talks to you, alerts you of enemies and heals you :P Or possibly the Tesla Armour.
