eMule 28b has been improved for IP Blocking by adding a preference section for its Security feature.

Our first aim is to test if users can locate each other by using world servers. Ultimate goal is to get better P2P for Tassie.

I'm interested.

Who's running the server and what is the address?

No we would hope to use world servers. It's pretty easy to locate users on world servers.

We need to set a time to organise the tests. How would this weekend do?? Also what can you see as limiting factors? If you work out any setting please say.

The issues that could exist are,

one.) searches will produce more than just local results, but I'm hoping they will be coloured to show if they are local or not. A local only server could get around this. The colours should change due to world results being LowID to the blocking scripts.

two.) the friends list is IP based to start with and then once located it converts to a hash ID. So users will have to inform others of their IP to get their friend icon active.
