From Bob Purdon, Pipeworks: "So with a name of "IXHammer" you seem to know stuff all about peering. I find that curious - but I digress. " I guess that should be it for you Porkster. How? Bob is just stating his opinion. Nothing makes him an expert, irrespective of the business he works for, etc. I...

Anach, what's the cheapest for blanks you've located and where?? I've been holding back on buying a DVD burner for blank prices. $1.50 seems reasonable on mainland for cheapies. The era is now broadcast quality downloads and backups, especially with a HDTV card which I have. Finally channel 10/TasTV...

Isn't that the backbone provider whose financial backers are desparately trying to sell their interests but can't find a buyer? (I'll answer my own question: Yes, with AGL telling the ASX that they are going to withdraw their equity within 6 months, whether they sell or not.) Hmm that tip bit (I me...

Re: Yello
, half speed ftp sites and kazaa and shit, Who the hell uses Kazaa if they’re computer literate! Well on my Comindico based dsl deal, I’m getting A1 speeds and always have. Currently downloading about 20 files and the speeds is near maxing out the dsl config and I not using port 80/8080, using ...

Jesus, this has got to be the slowest discussion thread on the web... I thought the whole "Porkster knows nothing about networks" thread had died. Looks like more fun to be had here Go back to fixing your AMD systems, etc. A waste of time talking about trivial-history or the bias of a secluded grou...

Johnd's problem is he disagreed on a subject that was different than the one being discussed, that was the problem. Other words leading the sheep camp into believing that issue was obviously incorrect for my view point. The old issue was Shareaza and how it discovered hosts and determined Hub and le...

*thinks phil is already on the pipe* He might be. As far as the plan goes, it's only Keypoint that might be on the Pipe and that is at Christmas(Dec). Being able to peer to Keypoint isn't the same as PIPE'ing to other ISP's, if they join the Pipe at all, which is very unlikely(iiNet is the only one...

The latest Shareaza beta is now available – 1.8.9.9
Latest Shareaza Beta, 1.8.9.9 This would have to be the best Bittorent client now. Also with the added network of Shareaza for the smaller files and also users sharing on a non credit system, this would make it one of the best eMuling clients too. http://webpages.charter.net/kevogod/files/Shareaza1...

Quote " For now, multi-source means that DC:PRO can download the same file from different users, whoever has a slot free first, like in DC++. " Arrr the truth is out. Maybe there is still hope though. btw, I'm still going unlimited and these months I'm finiding it hard to think up thinks to download...

DC might finally have multisourcing.
DC might finally have multisourcing. Seeing is believing though, as if it does, this would require a new server programming and also divert from the copyrights of DirectConnection Original. Other words if it is a whole new server and client then it's not really DC it a unique model. http://dcpro.sou...

Re: Bittorent newbie help please
Hmmm... ok, so I am trying out this cool new Ãœberprogram. MIME-type registered, torrent file downloaded, connecting to peers, yeah yeah. How come my transfer ratio is so shit? It seems that BT is trying to use all of the upstream, and thus can't get the acks out and so downloads get hammered - jus...

I must admit it's been better than the older ones which I considered tripe.
Anyone know Reggie?

Re: Psycho restructured
I have moved DC++ to another machine, the share is totally disorganised, but I made sure that Reloaded TS was on there for [O_o] If you were after something specific, to continue your download, either pm the DC client (checked every few days) or reply here. Good timing as there is nothing out anyway.
